Hello,

2016 has been another great year for Convergence thus far; I’ve started the year on a high note by doing some very interesting reverse engineering jobs for Curtin University in their petroleum department. I got to work with some great minds to help them solve a problem. It was a privilege to work with such highly skilled engineers and that I was able to assist them in an area they had little knowledge in. This is the third time I’ve worked with them and I hope to continue our business relationship with further challenging projects.

A couple of newer clients I’m really excited about are Romteck and Simon Sharpe, I’ve only just started to get involved in their projects. Both look like they could provide a lot of opportunities and have started off well. Both clients’ projects involve different skill sets, with Romteck utilizing my experience with cable loom assembly and Simon Sharpe using my knowledge of SMD PCB assembly. Engineering projects often take time to start-up, and I look forward to the ramp-up and getting production started.

Remote Control Technologies has now become one of Convergence’s largest clients, with requirements such as meeting deadlines, quality control and clear communication been meet. They have given Convergence the opportunity to take on a slightly larger work load, I am happy they have put their faith into an Australian manufacturer and I will continue to support them to the best of my abilities.

A recent project was a bit different than the usual production project. I was able to assist Beurteaux, a company that specialises in marine seating. With their new seating designs, which now contain entertainment systems and power supplies to charge your mobile device. I was able to supply a very hard to find component that was difficult to find stock of. I was able to fulfil that requirement as well supply custom made USB charging leads to be integrated into the armrest of these particular marine seats. Since the completion of that project, they have recently asked me to inquire about panel mount USB connectors for another project of marine seat project.

I’m excited to hear, that soon I’ll be receiving my Voltera PCB printer from Canada. This is a kickstarter project that I have been supporting since the start of February 2015. I received an email saying they will be shipping my printer to me soon! So I’ll soon be able to print out quick turnaround prototype PCBs for testing and evaluation to my client base and anyone else who would like to utilize that service.

Thank you to all my clients, I haven’t talked about you all, I’d be writing for a few pages if I did! Be assured your business is greatly appreciated.

Well what a year it has been, I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy a very prosperous and profitable year, even with the doom and gloom surrounding the resource sector. Thank you to all my clients for their support in 2015, I look forward to continuing our projects into 2016!

I've been involved some very interesting project this year, highlights were working with the CSIRO in a reverse engineering project, where I duplicated a temperature controller into 6 new units. I improved, refined and gave the newer controllers a much needed professional make-over. The sample unit I have to duplicate, look like it had been put together by a high first year university engineer!

Also working on LED controllers for a couple of theaters around Perth, a revolutionary new technology that is the first of it kind, that enables slow fading of LEDs without and sudden drop out when the voltage gets to low.

While these kind of new projects are interesting and exciting, it's my consistent clients who I manufacturer hundreds of circuit boards and cable looms for every month, that really make up the year. Without them the business wouldn't survive, thank you for your continued support.

Very excited to announce that in a month or so I’ll be the owner of Neoden TM240A pick and place machine and a Mechsonic B02C+ wire cutting and stripping machine. These new machines will deliver a higher level of efficiency and quality.

With the pick and place machine I’ll be able to offer PCBS much quicker and at a smaller pitch, down to 0402 accurately.

The wire processing maching is fabntastic, just load a spool of cable, program it tothe length you want it, how far to strip the ends and the quanity and press enter, and bang, it does a cable every second.

Hello everyone,

With a sudden change in hosting services I decided to revamp the website. As long with a more modern look, the website will be more connected to my current client base, with more information provided quickly for everyone to be kept up to speed on current projects, delays, travel and the sharing of technology.

I hope this platform begins a new interaction with my clients and i'm excited to see how it goes.

Kind Regards,

Brett Douglas
