Hello,
2016 has been another great year for Convergence thus far; I’ve started the year on a high note by doing some very interesting reverse engineering jobs for Curtin University in their petroleum department. I got to work with some great minds to help them solve a problem. It was a privilege to work with such highly skilled engineers and that I was able to assist them in an area they had little knowledge in. This is the third time I’ve worked with them and I hope to continue our business relationship with further challenging projects.
A couple of newer clients I’m really excited about are Romteck and Simon Sharpe, I’ve only just started to get involved in their projects. Both look like they could provide a lot of opportunities and have started off well. Both clients’ projects involve different skill sets, with Romteck utilizing my experience with cable loom assembly and Simon Sharpe using my knowledge of SMD PCB assembly. Engineering projects often take time to start-up, and I look forward to the ramp-up and getting production started.
Remote Control Technologies has now become one of Convergence’s largest clients, with requirements such as meeting deadlines, quality control and clear communication been meet. They have given Convergence the opportunity to take on a slightly larger work load, I am happy they have put their faith into an Australian manufacturer and I will continue to support them to the best of my abilities.
A recent project was a bit different than the usual production project. I was able to assist Beurteaux, a company that specialises in marine seating. With their new seating designs, which now contain entertainment systems and power supplies to charge your mobile device. I was able to supply a very hard to find component that was difficult to find stock of. I was able to fulfil that requirement as well supply custom made USB charging leads to be integrated into the armrest of these particular marine seats. Since the completion of that project, they have recently asked me to inquire about panel mount USB connectors for another project of marine seat project.
I’m excited to hear, that soon I’ll be receiving my Voltera PCB printer from Canada. This is a kickstarter project that I have been supporting since the start of February 2015. I received an email saying they will be shipping my printer to me soon! So I’ll soon be able to print out quick turnaround prototype PCBs for testing and evaluation to my client base and anyone else who would like to utilize that service.
Thank you to all my clients, I haven’t talked about you all, I’d be writing for a few pages if I did! Be assured your business is greatly appreciated.
